Eventonline has been around for more than 16 years now. In the meantime, after all these years, we have been working for many large hotel chains, one of which is the well-known French hotel group Accor. When traveling abroad, it is obvious that we spend the night in a partner hotel.
Recently, my trip brought me to Rome, where I opted for the beautiful boutique hotel ‘Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese’, situated in a former 19th century Roman palazzo. Located in the heart of Rome, minutes away from the city’s finest attractions and landmarks, such as The Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and Villa Medici, Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese evokes the feel of a traditional Roman home with a laid-back atmosphere and a sense of being truly immersed in the Italian capital.
Our room was on the 6th floor. After a quick check-in I was very much excited and curious as we received an upgrade to a luxury room with a view of the old town, simply breathtaking! Enjoying such a stunning panorama during your stay, already makes your holiday a success! In addition, the room was spacious and equipped with all necessary facilities. Beautiful details such as the Illy espresso machine and Hermès bath products really stand out.
The crown jewel of the hotel, situated on the seventh floor, is the restaurant and bar, ‘Settimo’. One of the highest rooftop restaurants in the city, Settimo is an elegant botanical escape that offers panoramic views of the Villa Borghese gardens, The Vatican City and St. Peter’s Basilica. It displays bold interiors and seats up to 50 guests indoors and 15 on the terrace. Cocktail enthusiasts at Settimo can enjoy sundowners with a view, with one of Settimo’s signature drinks, which comes with specially paired finger food. No need to say, the restaurant serves contemporary Roman dishes using locally sourced ingredients.
Meetings and Events
Planning a meeting or seminar in Rome? You can’t go wrong with Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese. The hotel boasts three meeting rooms, which can host up to a maximum capacity of 40 people, or a maximum banquet capacity of 20 people. The meeting rooms and welcoming lounge can be adapted for events, banquets, cocktail evenings, or even private receptions. The hotel’s Meeting concierge are on hand to guide an option of activities and visits, as well as suggesting tailor-made menus, from wine tasting to French patisserie. Rome in the Summertime is hot, the temperatures are high, but it is also much quieter than, for example, in the Autumn. If you want to explore Rome and you can handle the heat well, August is without doubt the ideal moment to visit. And you can always cool down in the hotel. In short, Sofitel Villa Borghese is a gem, and I will no doubt return to this perfect place. – Wood Approved!
PS: Golden tip! Taxis in Rome are usually old, and the drivers are not always ‘perfect gentlemen’ in traffic. That is why I always book a private driver. The price is comparable to current taxi rates, about 50 to 60 €. However, you will be seated in a comfortable Mercedes … driven by a gentleman.
